Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365m), Kalapattar peak (5555m), Cho La Pass (5300m) and Gokyo Ri (5483m)
I shall write about this little trip later when my mind has come to grips with the experience.
I shall also tell the tale of how, at midnight on the final day, I became convinced in my stupor that I was going to die before dawn and of how my wife led me by the hand as we walked under a frosty moon to a clinic on the next mountain.

For the moment I want to say to all of you that have thought about visiting Everest Base Camp:
Just do it.
The two weeks, including lodging, food, guides and porters costs the same as a week on Kilimanjaro and is much, much more of an experience.
For those who dream of climbing Everest – you don’t need my advice. It’s deceptively small, when up close, but probably only because everything else around it is so big.
